Here is what a few of your fellow Hoyas had to say about their Valentine’s Day festivities…

What does Valentines Day mean to you?

“It’s basically a day to remember what love is…In this day and age it seems to be connected to lovers or couples…I think it’s important to remember that all love comes from the heart whether it’s family, friends, whatever…That’s what it means to me.”

-Matt Kopp COL 2014

What are some exciting ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day?

“Previously, my friends and I have come together to make homemade chocolate on Valentine’s Day. It’s a fun, indoor activity and a great way to hang out with friends. Just pitch in and buy some chocolate (bars and wafers work well). Melt the chocolate and put it into molds so that you can create the shape that you want. Then take the chocolate pieces and put them in the freezer. In a few minutes, you will have delicious semi-homemade Valentine’s themed chocolate. Be sure to share the love with friends and neighbors!”

-Mikki Mori NHS 2014

How do you celebrate Valentine’s Day as a single person?

“A glass of wine, a good chick flick, and lots of laughs with friends.”

-Claire Lang COL 2014

“…I could probably write several pages on how to get through Valentine's Day if you're single. The key is to find other single people and just complain to each other about how irritating all of these couples are. If you already know a lot of single people, get them together and go see a movie, or go out to dinner. Just do something.”

-Ryan Day COL 2013

Do you have any funny or unique Valentine’s stories?

“During my freshman year of high school, my friends and I all received chocolate roses and we were really confused as to who sent them. It ended up being our basketball coach who sent the roses as a funny surprise.”
